A village protection network for a whole wilaya: thermal cameras on cell towers, sensor boxes on forest edges, drones at Civil Protection units that confirm the fire, alert every phone within 5 km, and become flying base stations when the towers burn.

Find the leak before anyone calls.

Algeria loses roughly a third of its drinking water in the pipes. HYDRA cuts a town into metered districts, watches the flow at 3 a.m. over LoRa, narrows a leak with pressure, and pins it to the metre with two microphones and one cross-correlation.

Why these two

In August 2026, wildfires in northeastern Algeria killed people in villages that never got a warning, then burned the towers they would have called from. The same summer, the state set a national target to cut water losses that no wilaya is on track to hit.

Both are, at their core, telecommunications problems: getting a small, honest signal from the field to the people who can act, in minutes, over infrastructure that may be on fire, underground, or nonexistent. That is what these systems are built to do.

What's under the hood

LoRaWAN link budgets from underground chambers, drone-borne gateways and flying base stations, cell broadcast geo-targeting, minimum-night-flow analysis, acoustic cross-correlation, spread modelling — designed as working systems, not slides.
